Ian is one of our members who has studied the medieval abbey of Strata Marcella, near Welshpool, for over 40 years.

In this talk he will take us from the site’s religious beginnings, through the building and development of Strata Marcella, to its demise.

He will also consider surveys and excavations of the site since then.
